Lighting Design Contest is an excellent alternative to entrance exams. Last year, 230 of almost 300 applicants had been chosen and recommended for enrollment into Master’s programs of ITMO University without needing to pass their entrance exams. Submit your portfolio via a system until 2 June 2019 and join our International Master's Program in Lighting Design.
We are looking for talented people who are interested in light, science, engineering, and design. The main terms and conditions of the contest are to present your experience in design concepts, prototypes or scientific papers related to the topics "light in architecture and the urban environment" and/or "light in industrial design". The contest is organized for prospective Master’s students who are fluent in English, have a Bachelor’s diploma (or will be completing your Bachelor’s degree this year).
To participate, you’ll need to complete the application form (you can fill it in on your computer), a signed cover page of your portfolio (you need to print out this template, sign it, and scan it into the PDF format), your CV, motivation letter, recommendation letters, and all the documents which can serve as a proof of your scientific, academic and non-academic achievements until 2 June 2019. All instructions on the format of the motivation letter and other documents you need to submit can be found on the template of the portfolio cover page.

The judges will consider all the applications and award each participant a set of points. If your portfolio scores over 75 points, you’ll be considered a winner of the competition and get admitted* into the International Master's Program in Lighting Design. The final results will be announced on June 15, 2019.
*Please note that the contest is only meant for exam-free admission to the fee-based positions at ITMO’s cutting-edge International Master’s programs.
