The annual Professional Lighting Design Convention (PLDC) is growing and announcing an early-bird registration. The 7th convention will take place in Singapore, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre from the 25th to the 27th of October 2018

Lecture by Koert Vermeulen, founder and lighting designer of ACT Lighting

Initiated by Joachim Ritter, PLDC is organised by Educational Events Division of VIA-Verlag (VIA Events) that is responsible for the Professional Lighting Design platform. The very first PLDC took place in London in 2007, where professionals from different fields of practice and research came together to discuss and exchange ideas, approaches, and concepts. The international and interdisciplinary understanding of lighting design that PLDC generates also supports the ongoing process to gain recognition for Lighting Design as a specialist discipline and for the profession as a whole.

The theme ‘a smart move’ reveals the global changes in lighting design and human adaptation to adjust the changing conditions under the influence of digital technologies and new processes in design. Two-day conference program consists of four sessions with focus on The Internet of Design Things, Professional Practice issues, Experiential Environments and Hospitality Lighting. Moreover, practical workshops, panel discussions, and visits to iconic architectural buildings of Singapore are planned for participants and guests.

Early-bird registration ends on 25 May, 2018.
