Light Symposium Paper Competition

KTH Lighting Design is pleased to announce the Call for papers for the Light Symposium Paper Competition. Competition is open for students, designers and professionals with less than 5 years working experience. Event will be held in frames of Light Symphosium Stockholm from 6 to 7 December in 2018. 

The first Light Symposium took place in 2008 at the University of Technology, Business and Design in Wismar, Germany. Since then the event is hosted alternatively between Hochschule Wismar and KTH Lighting Design every second year. During the symposium, the topic “Light and Architecture – Multi-sensory Experiences” will be discussed from a variety of perspectives in accordance to 4 main tracks: Perception, Architecture, Health, Design

Applicants can be students of Lighting Design, Architecture or related disciplines, Master and PhD students, independent practitioners or young educators in the field of Lighting Design, Architecture or related fields. One speaker from each track will be notified to receive economic contribution for travel and accommodation expenses up to 7000 sek. Free entrance to the Light Symposium 2018 for two days, lunches and participation to the Gala dinner on Thursday 6th, 2018 will also be provided. The jury will decide on an overall winner who will be given the opportunity to present at the 10th LED Forum in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The winner will be announced at the end of the Symposium on Friday 7th. 

The required documentation should be sent by Friday 24th August 2018, 6pm. The selected papers will be announced in the second half of September 2018.
