On 6–7 October 2016, in St. Petersburg, Russia, was held the International Conference on Lighting Design 2016. The leading Russian and European experts from the fields of lighting design, architecture, design, multimedia, art and engineering was all gathered in one convenient location to discuss the theme of this year’s conference "Light. Space. Time”.
The main goal of this conference was to generate intelligent discussion forum in order to develop a competitive market for lighting design and produce new ideas and trends to connect Business & Science with Art & Technology. The format of two-day's event included 4 general panel discussions, more than 20 presentations, workshops and lections of the key industry leaders from the field of lighting design, interactive technology, art and education. In addition to the main program were organized cultural and social events such as mini-exhibition of lighting installations and open lectures for a city at The New Stage of Alexandrinsky Theatre in order to promote development of lighting culture and to improve knowledge of citizen in the field of the science of light. Conference ended with the awards ceremony for the Competition "Light: motivation or manipulation" and the warm-up event of the global convention of lighting designers PLDC.
